W. John Bartley
Academic Director
John began his teaching career in U.K. near London. He taught in California and returned to England and became a Deputy, then Acting, Head Teacher. He arrived in Singapore in 1987 to work in an international school for 2 years. In 1996 he joined MAE and was A.D. at both Katong and Tampines branches before moving to Simei Branch. John manages Quality Control (ISO) across all branches and has a very good knowledge of what students require with their English. As the most experienced MAE teacher, there is a strong demand for his classes.

Graeme Baumgart
Deputy Academic Director
Graeme is from New Zealand. As a trained teacher, he taught English at junior and senior levels in Tonga, New Zealand and the Maldive Islands. He was Head of English at Otaki College for 10 years, as well as being responsible for external exams, senior student welfare and sports administration. Graeme, who joined us in 2008, speaks 4 languages and enjoys multicultural experiences and teaching at MAE. With his wealth of experience, his lessons are always fun-filled and motivating. br /> |

Ayesha Baumgart
Ayesha taught primary and secondary schools in New Zealand and the Maldive Islands. She is trained in Reading Recovery and has taught students ranging from 5-year-olds to UK ‘A’ level entrants. She interacts warmly with students at MAE and always creates a motivating and happy ambience for the young inquisitive minds. |

Pamela Mason
Bachelor of Science (Otago University)
Pamela is from Australia, where she began her teaching career. She spent 12 years teaching in Papua New Guinea before returning to Australia to work as a Special Needs teacher and teach English to Overseas Officers. Now in her ninth year with MAE, Pam’s in-depth knowledge of the local curriculum and caring nature make her one of our most popular teachers. |

Michael Groner
Michael is an extremely well-qualified teacher from USA who has had many years of experience teaching in primary and secondary schools and university, most recently in Australia. He has also had extensive experience as a tutor and support teacher, which gives him very good skills for developing the English of Singapore students.. |

Jessica Godyn
Jessica comes from Newcastle New South Wales, Australia where she taught students from 2-8 years. She taught in a number of preschools in Australia. In 2008, she worked both at MAE and in our Orange Tree preschool where she was teaching English from N1 to K2. Her caring and supportive personality makes her popular with the MAE students. |

Hayley O’Connell
Hayley is from Geelong, Victoria, Australia. After obtaining a Bachelor of Teaching (primary) in Warnambool, where she taught 5 – 8 year old’s, she proceeded to another school to teach lower primary school students, then came to MAE in 2009. Hayley is a very professional teacher who prepares well for her lessons. She is able to build an instantaneous rapport with the students who are motivated to excel. |

Paul Mackintosh (B.A., Dip Ed, MSEd, MDiv)
Over the past 12 years Australian teacher Paul has had extensive overseas experience teaching in Paraguay, USA, Bahamas and UK. Throughout this time he has continued to upgrade his qualifications and has taught at all levels. His most recent experience has been in a primary school in Queensland, Australia and he comes to MAE keen to share his skills and knowledge with Singapore students. |
